A few years ago somebody on this forum posted :

Probably good job we donโt make too much fuss about it, especially him being Christian or we would have to apologise for him and us in some way to someone.
The BBC would find a story about it why we should.

Happy saint George's day, the day we celebrate England's favourite Turk. 2nd in my case as my favourite is the guy who owns Ali Barbers restaurant up the road.

I personally think that St Nicholas is more popular than St George in the UK. But which one you prefer, you can't deny Turkey was doing something right when it came to producing Saints in the 4th century.
